To the illumined mind, the whole world burns and sparkles with light ~ Emerson

I love creating mandalas from photographs of things that have gone to seed. More than any other subject that I capture, plants at the seeming end of their growth cycle seem to show off the light within them. Of course, that growth cycle never really ends, as their seeds are scattered for the coming year. There is always that growth potential.

Bright Spirit Mandala shows that sizzling brilliance that is always inside of us and inside of our worlds, because really there is no separation. Thank you, thistle, for helping us see.

Brightest blessings to you on your path!

Wow! It just goes to show that things are not always what they seem. Here you took something seemingly "dead" and made it come to life. I love the colors you used.

There, I'm going to make it al sound so repetitious but my immediate statement when I sank into the center of this mandala was "Wow!"

Then I tried to count the rays and got lost about three times before I could finally come up with a number. I found myself lingering in the bright fan around the center and losing the number in the patterns.

The longer I pondered this mandala and the words you wrote, the more I felt how true it is. I have been unaware of that "sizzling brilliance" that is within me for a while. I'm afraid I lost the ability to look at the whole thing I was creating while I was deeply involved in the nitty gritty details of keeping it beautiful and finishing the work. Somehow I have been letting worry occupy my thoughts; maybe it is all the rain we have been having. The world is soggy, my thoughts are soggy and this brilliant gold and warm brown mandala is a perfect antidote for all that cloudy thundery weather we had for two weeks.

We seem to be sharing a bit of one mind this week Sue. My blog entry today is also about the continuation of the life cycle...the end of one phase being the beginning (continuation) of the next.

blessings,
Laura
