Mandala Eyes
pen and ink, crayon
© Sue O'Kieffe 2008

Remember the old Beatles tune Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds? Well, that tune was on my mind when I doodled this, cuz sometimes I have those eyes too! I like to maintain a lighthearted attitude, because life is too short too take it too seriously, and angels can fly cuz they take themselves lightly.

Over the past few weeks I have been graced with blog awards from some thoughtful and fun folks who inhabit the blogosphere here. Thank you muchly, Sweet Irene, John Mora, and Diane Clancy for the recognition. I do enjoy the acknowledgment and enjoy watching my girl scout badge sash become more colorful with all these honors!

‘It’s a big kiss, of the chaste, platonic kind, from me to you with the underlying ‘thanks’ message implied. I really do appreciate your support and your friendship, and yes, your comments.’

I have decided to bestow these two particular blog awards to one particular Connie Rose, who has taken to blogging like a fish takes to water (and what else would you expect from a Pisces?)
Connie is in the Artists in Business group I have been participating in since sometime last spring. She and fellow artist Joan Gold and I are going to continue meeting after the business group ends in March. I look forward to continued interaction with these two other women who want to keep the business momentum alive. Enjoy your awards, Ms Rose. I look forward to many more months of learning about spinning and weaving and can hardly wait to see your fractals incorporated in your work. Go check her out!

oh I love that - such a cheery expression and naughty mandala eyes.
All the awards you are getting are so well-deserved.
Love all the new work and the freer expression you are getting into things on top of all the brilliant skilled precision - just Wow!

I love the smile on her face! Beautiful. Just so you know...I'm sorry I seem to be such a dunce w/ blogger and even understanding rss...and then my husband has been at work almost all the time since I last said I'd get his help. And now he's mentioned to you in a comment on my blog the rss at the bottom, and you replied and I'm sitting here at home how you two even did that! LOL! When he comes home I'll make him sit down w/ me and give me a lesson. I don't think he should have said it worked from work, you know? So my apologies. Suffice it to say...I'm confused.

I am glad you awarded Connie Rose. I have been visiting her site and she makes lovely hand woven products that are real pieces of art. She is on my blogroll.

Yay, for the manadala eyes. It is indeed Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, although I am sure you don't use that substance to get in that state, although I do think you are often inspired by a higher force.

Keep the lights on Sue, I am right behind you! Hee, hee.

Hope you get out to a marsh or the woods, there must be redwoods nearby, so that you can get the blue out of your eyes...great peice, your work is precious. Followed the links to the two sitres and both are impressive...inspiring group there.

It ios great when there is music on your blog - I remember a lovely magical quiet song at Christmas best.
