RORSCHACH, ANYONE?

tattoo

TATTOO

pen and ink, crayola and neocolor ii crayons
© Sue O'Kieffe 2008

I debated whether or not to post this doodle. It is a bit edgier than most; or maybe it is just it seems to be more of a reflection of my inner world than most. Long week, etc. I know that my mood will pass and that even the harder days need to be expressed now and then. It took me a week to finish this page. I will add it to my flickr set. I have other doodles there maybe you haven't seen yet.

For those of you who might be new to my blog and are wondering what in the world this woman is doing doodling outside the confines of the traditional mandala circle, back in November I began this activity during a challenge to be creative every day for that month. Leah has urged participants to go on and be creative every day in 2008. And so I am.

I will say I liked playing with the colors in my brand new box of 96 choices. The crayons seem to flow easier on the page and I love the names of some of their colors...wild strawberry, timberwolf, robin's egg blue. Playing with the shading and mixing of colors was quite satisfying

Tell me, if you would, what you see here and how you feel when looking at my colorful blot.
Oh, and yes, after having been a blogger for almost a year on this space, I just today registered myself with Technorati. Somehow I thought I had done that eons ago. If you feel inclined to add me to your favorites on that site, you can click on the widget at the bottom of the page. Thanks, John Mora, for remarking on your own similar action. Otherwise, I probably would have gone on figgering I was all good to go and had already staked my claim over there.

Happy Saturday, everyone, and please stay warm and dry out there (those of you in the northern hemisphere at least. )

hi Sue
I'm having problems accessing your blog at technorati...
have you claimed the blog there?
as technorati are not displaying your rank or authority..
I will keep trying as they have a few bugs atm :)

First of all I want to say that your mandala in the post before this one was simply stunning. I drooled over that one.

I always like your doodles, and find this one powerful and explosive. Were you feeling a bit over assertive when you doodled it?

I will check out that Technorati button, although I don't understand the meaning of it.

Technorati goes well with a dry chablis.

I left you something with sunflowers, yes - sunflowers again.

I had three open crocuses on my lawn today.

I like your doodles.

Hi Sue,

What do I see? Some tiredness, burnout, discouragement? something like that in a deep place. Supported and surrounded by light and love and peace and healing ... glitter and glamor .. lots of goodness and light.

And I see that the pain will melt - is melting - look at the way it oozes out of the bottom - as the love is so much stronger.

I will do your Technorati soon.

Somehow I see stress and stife. A lot going on all around you, but a sense of dread inside? I don't see the usual Sue at play type of doodle. I hope I am wrong, 'cause I always see something different than most do when I see inkblots. In any case I wish you happiness and joy, fun and amusement and love and peace! All the good things for you.

I see a storm a comin' There seems to be a definite diagonal split between a softer, calmer energy and a tension about to let go. I like this idea of doodling in color with colors - I usually just doodle with a pen. I go into a creative meeting meaning to take notes and end up with lots of lines and swirls all over my page with notes in between.

I see a fire breathing dragon,as I fly over top I see dry parched land with rivers and tributaries, an inside out mandala. Why is it we don't give more credit to doodles? I think we all need to give in to the doodle more often to refresh that critical thinker. I'll check out your Technorati. Sure hope you're feeling better today.

I appreciate those of you who took the time to offer me some feedback. It helped me remember the original pen and ink scribble and that what I was feeling at the time was an explosive opening. i wasn't really looking for an analysis of me, per se, but sometimes we get what we need and not what we want. i think deb's assessment comes closest to how i have been feeling, tinged by a more stressful week than usual for me, and i really love andrea's outside the box (or circle, as it were) interpretation.
don't worry, bobbie, i am fine!
i think i need a bigger sketch pad *adds this to my to-do list*

the drawing makes me think of a storm, frustration, a dark place within. however, it feels like there's brightness at the edges, some hope. xoxox

I saw a dancer; perhaps a shaman dancing out healing energy.

I know I haven't been here for a while, I have been very busy. But I love your blog, and I love your mandalas.

tornado, with lightening, and the stuff to the left: everything that's getting tossed about. Aren't crayons great?!

the next post - the one with the slow motion amethyst? what is slow motion? what an amazing picture (and the resulting mandala as always lovely)
