THE STORY WITHIN

DREAMSCAPEDreamscape Mandala - (Circle of Light series) - © Sue O'Kieffe 2007

A year ago I had a dream. In it I was visiting a cosmic library with neon purple walls. In this dream I was shown an archaic language that no one knew how to read anymore and was told I would be sharing this language in my mandala art. At the time of this dream and for a few months afterward, I explored working with images of crystals, but I was not satisfied with them when they were printed. I felt like there was a better way to produce those images so light could shine through them. I knew that if I sent out that request to the Universe that eventually the answer would come back to me. I am still waiting. Luckily, Im pretty patient.

Right now Princess Flowers (Tibouchina urvilleana),are blooming in grand profusion until the winter rains finally beats away the last of their petals. It has been one of my favorite fall plants for as long as I have lived on the North Coast of California. I love being able to share today with you the story it holds within.

So funny you should choose for your mandala the same colors as my dream colors. My dreams always start with wafting purple smoke just as I am drifting off to sleep. Now if I could only remember what I dreamed. he he. I am working on another dream art and have used the same colors...I think we are connected somehow :) The princess flowers make a nice mandala, don't they?

Hi Sue,
Perfect colors for a dreamscape - they are hauntingly beautiful and otherwordly. Your mandala reminds me of a magic portal that once you pass through will take you on a fantastic journey.
Wow, that was an amazing dream you had. It sounds very meaningful and significant to your creative life.

Hello Sue,
Thanks for your fabulous comments, and Hello! to another former Midwesterner.

I love your mandalas, they positively breathe light!

I hope to visit Northern California again soon, and I will look you up when I do. I appreciate the communication, and I like your attitude too!
